But he writes that at this time, peace and reconciliation efforts are not helping us.

The government of the Republic of Kosovo had approved the request for Serbia's president's visit to Kosovo, including the exact route.
But because of the new circumstances created and the preservation of citizens' safety and the Serbian president's own delegation, today the Government of Kosovo has decided to cancel its visit to the village of Banje.
As president of Kosovo, I fully understand the reaction of the citizens of Drenica, who have expressed their reasonable revolt against such a visit. This shows that the wounds of pain and war are still very fresh.
However, by the time we are making efforts to peace and reconciliation, protests and roadblocks do not help us at all.
Therefore, I also understand the frustration of residents of the Serb community in the village of Banje, the inability to make this visit happen.
We all have to stick to and show minimal human culture of human understanding and communication.
We must know how to rise up on ourselves, on many wounds and pains. We have to do this for peace and reconciliation. HTH/Periscopi
