This comes shortly after the meeting that Government head Ramush Haradinaj had with US Defence Secretary James Mattis at the Pentagon. Haradinaj has initiated laws that would pave the way for the transformation of KSF into the Army.

Our young people, from the KSF, have had the fortune to learn from the best professionals in the U.S. Army, through programs that have been offered to us over the years. This experience gained is the best basis we have for transforming the KSF, and Kosovo is ready for this stage”, Haradinaj said, adding that the country's government is focused on continuing its partnership with the Pentagon and Washington official and has asked Secretary Mattis for its support, in Kosovo's membership in security mechanisms and in NATO.
