At the solemn ceremony on the 19th anniversary of the establishment of Kosovo Police, Kosovo President Hashim Thaci said police officers linked to crime are not allowed to wear the holy police uniform.
According to him, Kosovo police have made progress but all more work for fighting all negative phenomena in the country.
The head of the country, expressing surprise over the number of cases of domestic violence, has demanded that police in co-operation with other institutions be uncompromous in fighting this phenomenon.
Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj said Kosovo police officers every passing day are better able to defend the rule and law in the country. According to him from Kosovo's membership in Interpol, no one is missing but only helping to combat transnational crime.
According to him, Serbia's vote against Kosovo membership in Interpol is wrong.
Kosovo Police General Director Rashit Qalaj said Kosovo Police are ready to be part of Interpol and Europol. He is talking about the progress this institution has achieved for 19 years, and said this police on its principle has managed to be professional.
During this solemn ceremony for the 19th anniversary of the founding of the Kosovo Police were 57 captains, four majors and 5 lieutenant colonels.
