Serbia has sentenced Thaci to 10 years in prison for terrorism and genocide

Following Serbia's president's visit, Aleksandar Vuciqi to Kosovo, a possible visit by Kosovo's president, Thaci towards the Presevo Valley, writes Periscopi.

The interior minister has only warned that, in the event of the visit, police will act on the order of the Court one thing marking another humiliation for the country's institutions.

Concretically, the Court of Serbia charges Thaci that, along with Adem Jasharin, Rexhep Selimi, Sami Lushtaku and 13 others, he has carried out terrorist attacks, including the killings of Serb policemen and soldiers.

The indictment said that the accused following their stay in Albania, where they were militarily trained along with members of the Albanian Army and under the command of its officers, on the territory of the Skywright municipality, have formed the Kosovo Liberation Army, which Serbia considered “terrorist organisation”.

The Serbian prosecutor claimed that the “accused have undertaken two organised and co-ordinated shares of acts of violence, inspired with political motives to jeopardise the state regulation and security of the Federation Republic of Yugoslavia, so that Kosovo territory and other inhabited sites with Albanians can be cut off and the particular state formed and then join Albania<62>.

The prosecution said the accused have secured a large quantity of weapons, automatic rifles, sniper rifles, guns, ammunition, hand bombs and various explosives, and other military equipment, part of which have been provided by the Albanian Army./Periscopi
