Rakiqi threats called for Prosecution intervention

Recent threats to alert the Serbian Army, due to the president's visit according to analysts and civil society members, are enough for the State Prosecutor to react.

Political analyst Ramush Tahiri has told Kosova Prees that no one can threaten Kosovo's president for his visits to any part of the country.

Serbia's “Even President Aleksandar Vuciq, even chairman of the Republika Srpska List, whose party is registered in Kosovo, should not be formally or physically banned, visiting any Kosovo village or settlement. Anyone who did such works did fascist and legally condemned” has said Tahiri.

The fact that Goran Rakiq with his party is part of the ruling coalition, Tahiri says it blocks Government from acting because it would imply its decline. According to him, it is the Kosovo Assembly that assumes responsibility in this case.

The government has action mechanisms. We have also had Jablanoviki's case and the government is the minority government currently, because the Srpska List occasionally participates, they are ministers or parliamentary groups in the resignation. Security expert, once former Yugoslav Army General Ramadan Qehaja, commenting on a part of Rakiqi's reaction, has said the army's order to be put on military alert because Kosovo police have yesterday controlled a sports and humanitarian centre in the north of the country poses a classic military threat to Kosovo, but also to the region.

According to him, such approach of official Serbia is more than destabilising.

Such a combat readiness hike can only provide the existing Serbian political elite, camouflaged with the garment of EU integration. These actions imply that Serbia continues to consider part of Kosovo, respectively, its north as an integral part of it and acts in every form to demonstrate its control. Our attention should be focused on taking adequate security measures for self - defense. The initiative to establish Kosovo's military at the end of the year and establish defence capacity is in that spirit”, he has said.

Unacceptable Serbs' reactions have also been called Artan Murati by KDI. He has told Kosova Prees that it is the country's organs that should do its job in cases where there are threatening reactions.

He has voiced optimism that there will be political reactions, but says he does not expect much of them.

It is a disaster that since these politicians and our policy has allowed how many years after the war, the north of Kosovo to be counted as luxury whenever a representative of the state of Kosovo goes to that part. Therefore, I consider Rakiqi's statements are reckless, but show a reality that we are living in the Republic of Kosovo and in some way the Serbs living in that part consider that the Republic of Kosovo has nothing to do with that” part, he has said.

Yesterday the chairman of the Serbian List and once the mayor of the northern Mitrovica municipality, Goran Rakic, has said that if KFOR fails to protect the Serbs then the Serbian state should protect them and their properties.

“If KFOR does not want, then I as head of the Serbian List invite the state of Serbia to protect Serbs and their properties. We need to let everyone know that we will not allow that to happen again. We along with the people will protect our freedom and property, because Gazivoda is Serbia's”, Rakic has said.

The Lake of Uyman has an area of 11,9 square kilometers, of which 9.2 square kilometers extend to Kosovo's territory and 2.7 sq km on Serbia's territory. While the latter continues to insist that Weiman or “Gazivoda”, as they call it, is part of Serbia.
