Presevo Mayor: Joining Kosovo, But Without Exchange

The idea of exchange of territories between Kosovo and Serbia does not support even the mayors of the Presevo municipality, whose chairman, Shqirim Arifi, mostly supports plans for this area to join Kosovo, but not a scenario which would include that, in exchange, Serbia will be given part [...]
Arifi clearly identifies his opinion: a Kosovo at the current borders accepted by over 100 countries in the world is in Presevo's interest. If we are based on the referendum in 1992, the demand of Albanians in the valley to have territorial political autonomy, with the right to join the Republic of Kosovo, and if internationals support this, without exchange of territories and without side effects, then we agree, it was his message.
But that's all. Presevo Albanians have shown that they warm an idea of unity, but in the end, they are first interested in stability. Any exchange of territories, Arifit said, would have side effects, and residents there would suffer more.
Here Arifi quotes the past by recalling that no one has cared for them. In this direction, he explains, a Kosovo with its territorial integrity, as it has been accepted so far is in our interest. It is in our interest to be admitted to the UN as it is, because and for us, he continues, such a Kosovo in the future, will be more powerful.
