Deputy Minister of Education, Science and Technology Arber Geci in a statement on news reports.net has said that this time the August is expecting much better results than those in 2015.
Test results P ISA, which is expected to come up, consider that they will be many times better than they were in 2015 for the fact that the test P The ISA has been treated with a very high level of seriousness this time, and a much more serious treatment, even by students and teachers, Geci said.
Geci points out that on the test ) P ISA 2015) have identified major problems as they have not since been aware of the importance of this international assessment of the quality of education in the country.
) August has identified a number of problems that have existed in test P. The ISA of 2015, which has to do exclusively with a serious treatment of this test and a wrong approach to this test from students for the very fact that students have realized that these tests are not their personal assessments, and much of the questions have been left empty and unanswered because proper preparation and awareness of the importance of this test has not been made. This time we have identified these problems we have formed a commission that has done a co-ordination work with all the DKAs at the level of municipalities in Kosovo and we have made all technical preparations. We've prepared all the students for how the test should be completed. I believe that this job that has been done and very big preparation, I believe, will generate the real outcome of our students who believe it is many times higher than the results of past test, the Minister of Education said.
The deputy minister hopes that this time around Kosovo will take over and rank in a more satisfactory position.
We believe the test P The ISA 2018 will testify to the real results and real level of Kosovo students, and we very much hope that this outcome will be very high and that it will rank Kosovo where it belongs and that level it actually has, has ended Arber Geci.
On the other hand, education expert Dukagjin Pupovci says otherwise. According to Pupovci since 2015, there has been no improvement in the quality of education, which questions the outcome this time.
According to him, preparing students, using textbooks, and sharing students of this generation on the computer has been easier that can produce better results, but here it cannot rely on the quality of education.
Since 2015 there hasn't been any improvement in the quality of education that has been the best result, so it could have been the best result because students have been prepared, it could have been the best result because they're a generation that has more computer access than last year's generation. Everyone had free textbooks from the first grade, so nobody's been missing them, so they could get any improvement. . But I think that improvement is not the result of improving the situation in the education system. So for these results it is good to wait, Pupovci said of news.net.
The education expert stresses that the problem in the educational system lies in the poor quality where there is no responsibility in what is worked and accountability is lacking.
The problem of the education system in Kosovo is quality. The first is that Kosovo in my opinion has failed to build a system where responsibility and accountability prevail. So it's all about hierarchy, from the ministry to the teachers. No one in our system holds an account for failures for wrong acts. The other problem is not quality teaching in class, as if quality teaching was certainly different. The problem is that teachers have no kind of professional support during their work. No supervision for teachers.
The lack of technology equipment in schools is another issue that Pupovci raised as serious problems, since according to him the students know how to use computers but they miss school.
Kosovo has 82% internet penetration so it's at the level of European union countries and here lies one of the major educational system problems because children have internet access and computer access, but when they come to school they work in classic methods. So I don't doubt children's ability to use a simple software like filling out a test. So I don't expect that here will be the reason for any different results by 2015, Dukagjin Pupovci concluded.
This year in test ) P The ISA 2018 has attended 211 schools with 5370 students. This test has been held from April 11th to May 5th.
While Kosovo in 2015 from 72 countries participating in this test, it shared its last reading place with Lebanon, while in the mathematics and sciences of nature it had left only Algeria and the Dominican Republic behind.
