Pacolli is part of the Kosovo delegation that is participating in the United Nations General Assembly under way in New York. He also met briefly with United States President Donald Trump, with whom he shook his hands.
Asked about this meeting at an interview for RTV 21, Pacolli indicated that his meeting with the American president has been completely spontaneous. Pacolli announced that he and Trump were known since the 1990s, and that they had met twice together, but what impressed Pacolli is the fact that Trump had never forgotten Pacolli at all. Pacolli claims that he is very proud of holding hands with the American president, adding that such a thing would be done in the future.
There was much talk about the meeting between the first Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Behgjet Pacolli, with Morocco's Prime Minister Saadddin Othman, as the latter had written on Twitter that a Kosovo reviewer had been imposed on him, but that what Pacolli had named as a meeting was not.
Pacolli told me how everything got out. According to him, he contacted before meeting with the Moroccan prime minister, asking him in Arabic whether he could have a brief meeting, which Othman had accepted by inviting Pacolli to join him in a hall in his building.
Pacolli indicates that to get to the site of the Moroccan prime minister, it seemed special permission, and if such a meeting was not planned, then the Kosovo team could not enter the location. According to Pacolli, access to that section was secured by the delegation of the Moroccan prime minister, where they have sat down together and even had coffee, talking for a long time, even according to Pacolli, that two more meetings have been postponed for decades because of meeting with the Moroccan delegation. To conclude this, Pacolli claims that someone certainly had something against this meeting, which has prompted Prime Minister Othman to make the statements he made.
