At Austria's Interior Minister Herbert Kickel's invitation, Interior Ministry Minister Batush Gashi is participating in the ministerial conference of Western Balkan partners, held in Vienna on the subject: “Security and Migration ) Promoting Partnership and Accession” is known through a media communiqué. Gashi [...]
Gashi during the two days of this conference will discuss the common interest of the Western Balkan countries and the European Union to address security-related problems, sustainability and development of all countries.
We all know, in our day, international terrorism and violent religious extremism continue to remain one of the major security threats, both in the Western Balkans and in other countries of the world. The international security environment has become more unpredictable and filled with many challenges going far beyond Europe”, Gashi said.
He stressed that the Government of Kosovo has deemed the phenomenon of terrorism and extremism as a phenomenon of triple goals, as an attempt to crack down on Kosovo's security, as efforts to create long-term support in Kosovo and as an effort to send soldiers to the Islamic state by misusing the religious faith of Kosovo Muslims.
“As a consequence of these efforts of the Republic of Kosovo, there is a very visible reduction of this phenomenon. In 2017-2018, the number of people from Kosovo who have gone to conflict zones has been zero, an apparent decline compared to 2013-2014x1>, says the communique, broadcast Koha.net.
The conference will continue tomorrow, where Gashi will meet with ministers and representatives of the Balkan states, who will talk to me about the countries' common future in terms of co-operation in the region and beyond.
Representatives of all EU and Western Balkan states, as well as international organisations, such as INTERPOL, EUROOPOL, FRONTEX, IOM, UNCHR, ICPD, IACA, MARRI, etc.
