Model student not accepted by high school in Pristina

With an exemplary report card and no response to his refusal in high school, the family has turned to the media for help.

Besfort, an exemplary student who finished his primary lesson at the Initiation School “Elena Gjika”, applied to the “Ali Sokoli”

After his refusal, he was told to be on the waiting list, but still he has not received an answer to the start of school.

Besfort's family has complained to the Municipal Education Directorate in Pristina and to the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology.

According to them, these complaints have not been reviewed by any institution, and he continues to have no answers.

But, otherwise, the Pristina municipality says.

The student's name is tenth in a row on the list of non-recognitions (also called a waiting list). Listing is made according to student scores. As is the case at the country level, the performance is made by formulas, where success comes in during the early years of schooling; points in the achievement test; and success in the respective subjects for school/direction, and similar. Based on this, the student's complaint in question by the Municipal Education Directorate has been described as unbased”, said Adonis Tahiri, spokesman in the Pristina municipality.

Otherwise, the denial of middle education is considered a violation of human rights, and the Besfort family have said that this time, they will complain to the ombudsman.

Without naming names, Besfort has told of many accepted students and has successfully been weaker.
