Minister Bytyqi: Shutting down schools in the town of Drenas is the wrong decision

Education Minister Shyqi Bytyqi has reacted to closing schools in the Drensa municipality, calling it unfounded and fallible. Bytyqi has hosted representatives of parents from the municipality of Drenas who have complained at the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, to the action of the Drenas municipality to close [...]

In a post in his Facebook profile, Bytyqi wrote that closing these schools was an unfair act. While according to the Drenas municipality, the reason for the closure of these schools has been that there have not been sufficient numbers of students or budgetary opportunities to operate these schools.

Unconcerned with this Komuna decision, parents announced that the divided parallel of the school “Mixe Galica”, which has not opened the doors for its students on September 3rd, numbers 116 students from the first grade to the eighth grade. They expressed the concern of all parents and asked for MAST's help to have this school reopen the doors, that is, cancel the decision and start the job.

Of course, this has been a hasty decision DKA in Drenas, however, this is the competence of the municipality, even though MAST is interested in helping the school reopen”, bytyqi wrote.

Meanwhile, Bytyqi has said that the Municipal Education Directorate in Drenas has been aiming to hold August responsible for closing these schools, but he stresses that these claims are groundless and unrealistic.

“MAST from its budget does not provide budgetary tools for any municipality, school or parallels, because each municipality has the government grant provided for education, which is shared by the Ministry of Finance, so the DKA's request for additional budgets from MAST is illegal”, points out Bytyqi.

THE MAST will also officially submit the Drenas Town Office in hopes that this request will be reviewed and students will return to their school.
