Publishing the list of false veterans from the prosecution has been made in order to fail to clear the case known as “Veterani”, estimates Ehat Miftaraj from the Kosovo Institute for Justice (IKD).

Miftaraj, in a proposal for Online Economy, said involvement by the Prosecutor's Office in the indictment of about 20 thousand veterans would be unable to establish justice in the reasonable timing of the case, as he said, the largest since the post-war.

“In the first place, unfortunately the State Prosecutor's Office appears to be intended to discredit this case, the failure of this case, has decided that under the indictment, part of the indictment to be almost 20,000 Kosovo citizens, who, according to her coming to the public, found that a large number of them are false veterans, but there are also those who have been real veterans of”.

“Such an approach certainly would be maratonic in a court process, because a lawyer of the 12 currently most formally has the right to invite everyone as a witness and if all were invited as witnesses then this process would last for years or decades, in some way it would be impossible for this case and the greatest case since the post-war was treated in a reasonable time and justice given in this act”, he stated.

IKD Director Ehat Miftaraj has also commented on the prosecution's request for stopping veterans' pensions.

According to him, the ban on pensions without a judicial decision is impossible, as this right has been recognised by the commission to verify veterans.

Miftaraj even believes that all of this is being done to deceive the public.
There will be impossible missions that under the law, a judge appointed to make a decision to suspend or stop the pensions of all war veterans, whether they are true or false, since such a right has already been recognized by the commission. The only way for false veterans to stop the pension must be made through a judicial decision”.

“Anyway, this is not done through temporary measures as prosecuted through the Prosecutor. This should not come to deceive the public that if we want to do something, and stop pensions, which is legally impossible. But the case has had to be run in court and the focus is on the commission's persons, and as they have done”.

But Miftaraj for the whole process proposes a solution.

He believes that handling this case independently or declaring the veterans' verification process as illegal would be the best solution.

The resolution of this case, I believe, must go parallel through two processes. First, it's through judicial process through the judicial process that the case be carried out independently impartially, unfortunately, the prosecution has done so almost an impossible” mission.

While in political terms I believe that the Parliament, the Government has already seen that we have an extremely number of false veterans and should see the legal possibilities that through law or other opportunities somehow declare this illegal process”.

Days ago, the list in the media was published containing the names of veterans who are considered false “”.

Due to the prosecution's release, part of this list, there were also persons who have been verified as real participants in the Kosovo Liberation Army war.
