Amid opposition and civic criticism from abroad, discontent has also emerged within the Pristina municipality's executive.
We have forgotten when we held a meeting of the board of directors”, said KTV, behind the camera, one of the municipal directors.
The president's lack of regular meetings with the directors has been confirmed by another director of the rule of Shpend Ahmeti.
But the latter says that meetings of the Council of Directors are not legal duty.
The first of the capital says that from the split from Vetevendosje, there have been attempts to say that his government has changed.
However, he says informal meetings are continuing, though less than the previous mandate.
That the mayor has no legal obligation for collecting directors on a weekly basis, even municipal work monitors say.
However, their failure to keep up the Progress Initiative is seen as dismanagement.
“Pristina is a priority” is the phrase Ahmeti has repeated many times over the last year, but his choice at the helm of the Social Democrat Party has reduced his time in his office in the municipality.
This meeting in Tirana, with Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama, as the party's first, along with Visar Ymer and Aida Dorgin, is just one of his trips abroad during working days.
In spite of that, Shpend Ahmeti says that the municipality is a priority but that the commitment to it is 100 percent impossible.
Years earlier, to devote himself to government in the capital, Ahmeti had resigned from the post of deputy leader in Vetevendosje Movement.
While, before taking the lead in Pristina, he had criticised the predecessor, former leader Isa Mustafa, for neglecting the municipality, dealing with the party.
