Mantel White Disgruntled With New Pay Cofficiency

The bill on salaries for the health sector has already been passed by the Government of the Republic of Kosovo in the Kosovo Assembly, where it is expected to undergo review and approval.

Although many meetings have been held between the Union Federation of Health and other institutional actors for defining the wage cofficiency for health workers, the latter have not agreed to rank.

Federation of Health Union leader Blerim Syla has said that they have repeatedly demanded that a medical specialist rank with a six-year-old cofficient.

Ringing with Cofficient 6 enables their wages to be higher.

Also, for nurses, who are currently classified with a 1.9 cofficiency, ranking of 2.7 is required, respectively, depending on their school training.

In view of these differences, the current bill proposed by the Government, according to union leaders, must undergo certain changes.

The doctor expert in Kosovo for the work he does is currently paid with a salary of about 600 euros a month, until nurses with about 400 euros a month.

With the passage of the law and the establishment of the cofficient at 5 for the medical specialist, they will be paid at about 1200 euros a month. Until the nurses have any major moves.

Still unannounced, the bill has sparked controversy with yet another category of doctors who have not been taken into account or entered into the law at all. Brian Syla said this was about clinic psychologists and pharmacists.

According to Syla, the Ministry of Public Administration has not taken these categories into account, although it has been the request of the Health Union as well as the Ministry of Health.

Despite this, Health Minister Uran Ismaili has already stated that although there is discontent and other demands on the draft law on wages, in terms of the health sector, he has said this law should be passed, as health workers' salaries and with these ranks will grow dignity.
