Bland, which had become one of Radio 5's most popular voices, had reported its fight against the disease in one of its emissions.
She said:
Time has come. They told me that I have only a few days of life, it's very surreal, but thank you very much for all the support I've received, I'll see you later, my dear friends”.
Today her husband has dedicated some touching words to the Instagram.
Her husband writes:
Our capable, beautiful, wonderful, courageous Rachel died peacefully this morning surrounded by our immediate family. We're all heartbreaking about the emptiness she left in our perfect family that will never be filled. For all those who took an interest in its history in the past two years that you followed and sent messages and support, we thank you from the bottom of our heart. You will never understand how important those messages have been to him and to us. We're going to miss her very much, but we're also proud of everything she's achieved in these 40 years and the impact she's had on the lives of many people. Thank you. Steve and Freddy”
