LDK: Do not succumb to adventures of Kosovo fragmentation

Kosovo has meaning only when maintaining territorial integrity and when we do not give up on adventures of fragmenting its territory.

So said today in Mitrovica, during a table of representatives from the central leadership and the LDK Parliamentary Group with the citizens of Mitrovica, where it was discussed about political currentity.

LDK Chairman in Mitrovica Safet Kamberi has expressed the concern of Mitrovica's citizens over recent statements, as he called Kosovo President Hashim Thaci's reckless statements.

“Anyway, we are very concerned with statements and reckless moves by Kosovo President Hashim Thaci... They're the most pronounced daily concerns of us mitrovicas, especially”, Kamberi said among others.

While the head of the LDK Parliamentary Group in the Kosovo Parliamentary Assembly, Avdullah Hoti, said nowhere more than in Mitrovica has the lack of consolidation of the state of Kosovo.

According to him, although in the north the state has failed to extend full sovereignty, this does not mean Kosovo giving up that part.

He has assured that the LDK with its power will stop these efforts that are harmful to the state of Kosovo.

“I remember that we are in a part of Kosovo where right across the bridge we have not yet extended the sovereignty of the state of Kosovo, we have a problem with order and security for citizens living in that part, but this should never be used for us to give up that part of Kosovo... I assure you that within our political power, and that power is growing every day with civic support on the ground, we will stop these harmful efforts”, said Ho.

MP Vjosa Osmani confirmed that political decisions for Mitrovica have always been taken away, not listening to the voice of its citizens and ignoring their interests. She added that the time has come to speak little about the human dimension of evil and warmongering plans that some today are promoting.

“Political decisions for Mitrovica are always taken away, not listening to your voice, ignoring your interests, considering Mitrovica and the country's north as a piece of land and nothing more. It's time to talk a little bit about the human dimension of these evil and combative plans that today are promoting unfortunately for the first time in the history of Kosovo, even people who are Kosovo Albanians” said.

While MP Driton Selmanaj has indicated that dialogue protagonists have entered politics only to divide Kosovo.

I have my own belief that they are in the finals of their project for what they have entered politics. These have entered politics to divide Kosovo”, he said.

On the other hand, even participating citizens of this table have expressed their opinion on recent political developments in the country.

Murtesa Berisha, has commended the LDK branch in Mitrovica for such a table, saying similar initiatives should be organised in other municipalities in the country, due to the created situation, which he called very distressing.

“Very much commend you for such an initiative that should be organised in other municipalities, because the situation is very distressing, to the mass”, Berisha said.

Faton Peci said developments in Mitrovica and failure to integrate or demographic changes that have occurred in the north are the result of Kosovo's institutional and social failure.

“Under no circumstances and in no time period have we seen the determination and readiness of official Pristina institutions that, with proper treatment of the north”, Peci has said.
