Kurti: Serbia wants Trepca and Weman

Vetevendosje Movement Chairman Albin Kurti commented on the debate launched by President Thaci on changing borders, while also revealing the opposition's scenario to undermine such an idea. He claimed that with the revision of the borders, Serbia aims to take a part of Trepca and Ujman Lake, but that is, [...]
“Politics is not the geometry where you can draw lines on a map, it may have been done in Africa or the Middle East, but it can't be done in Europe. The dialogue on exchange of territories is closer to war than peace. Thaci talking about painful compromise and exchange of territories promotes illusions. These illusions are ridiculous, but not because of the consequences they produce for Albanians. This is a game going on. We have a president who has acknowledged that the boundaries of this state must be changed. We must defend territorial integrity. With the divorce scenario and Trepca splits. Any city of Kosovo that has Trepca, Serbia would seek partition. Kosovo is not a water-rich country, lacking, and Weiman is vital. If we give up the north, we give up Wyman. The EU is in crisis, there is no harmonised foreign policy”, Kurti has said in an interview for Report TV.
Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq, recently committed to partitioning between Serbs and Albanians in Kosovo, echoing Serbia's demands for the land division of Kosovo under the process for normalising relations between the two countries.
Kosovo has dismissed the idea of its land division, while we are involved in debates prompted by its President Hashim Thaci's idea of “correction of the” border, which according to him means uniting the Presevo Valley, a majority Albanian region in southern Serbia with Kosovo.
The US and the EU have not rejected the idea, but have sought not to violate Balkan stability, while Germany and Britain are positioned against. As for Albania, Rama backed the EU position, while President Meta went against revising the borders.
