Kosovo Army lined up north, Belgrade

The Serbian list has stated that in the Kosovo Assembly, it will not vote for the proposal the Kosovo Government's laws on transforming the Kosovo Security Force into the Kosovo Army.

The deputy chairman of this List, Igor Simay, has said that representatives of this list in the Kosovo Assembly will not support the proposal, because, according to him, converting KSF into armed force is “contrary to the interests of the Serbian people, with UN Resolution 1244 and the Kumanovo Agreement”.

He has added that the Kosovo government is thus violating its laws.

“This is an attempt to bypass the judicial procedure requiring the Serbs' votes, and this is the invitation for the international community to react urgently to”, Sibiu has said.

Council for Kosovo for the Parliament of Serbia Milovan Drescu has told us that the Kosovo Government's step towards the Army shows of its growing readiness to reach the final agreement with Serbia.

This, however, brings damage and destabilises conversations that are developing regarding Kosovo's final status”, Drescu has said.

He has added that Kosovo's military formation would also have forces for quick response, for which he demonstrated fears they could intervene in Kosovo's north.
