Kosovo Parliament Speaker Kadri Veselini has given the speech for International Demorkania Day, which has been published in some portals as op/ed. What is noted in his writing is a desperate call for consensus which shows the incoherence of supporting ideas, the upsurge in the party that belongs to him, and finally the loss of former power, Periscope follows

That's his word:

The Kosovo Assembly has already established a very good tradition of marking the International Democracy Day. This day takes on special importance in the context of new societies and states of democracy, such as Kosovo society itself.

Democracy represents the best model of government in human political history. All other political models intended to replace it have failed one after another. Of course, the models that today try to rival democracy will also fail. The reason why this happened and will happen in the future is very clear: only democracy manages to ensure a government that does not violate the highest value of individual and society- freedom.

We believe in this idea, so we have chosen to be part of the democratic world, synonymous with which are the United States of America, the North-Atlantic Alliance and the European Union.

We have no dilemma and no hesitation in this vision.

But, democracy before life, it's real practice, it's a specific way of governing and living in freedom.

It is this dimension that sometimes seems to be forgotten. Our mouth is full of democracy, and on the other hand, we allow things to happen that do not correspond to the practical spirit of democracy.

As I say that, it's right on our political scene, which is currently having serious difficulties overcoming harmful party polarisation.

In democracy, political differences are legitimate, but when they do not conclude by consensus, they become at risk for democratic order. Partial interests are legitimate in democracy, but they are delegitiated every time they come up with public interest.

I mentioned these principles to come up with the current question of dialogue with Serbia.

We need to sit down and find common language in dealing with the challenges of this dialogue. Let's sit down, just as we've always done in the past, and we've succeeded. The spirit of mutual exclusion, which we are currently seeing in our political environment, is a dead end. The politics of the blind doesn't serve anyone, and we'll all be lost if you don't give up on it.

The dilemmas raised on the risk of partitioning Kosovo are not sustainable. Actually, it's not our dilemma. They are snares of opponents of our freedom and independence.

Kosovo is an independent and sovereign state.

The February 17th Declaration of Independence is a sacred declaration to our people. Therefore, as such, it is invulnerable. It is inconsistent, such as sacred things.

Kosovo has its territorial integrity, internationally recognised.

It has its democratic constitution and no one has a mandate to make decisions that are contrary to its basic principles. Therefore, considering these principles that unite us, it is time to sit down and move on together. This is what citizens of us expect today. This is our obligation which we have received from them.

One thing we need to know: Either we will respect and fulfill this obligation, or we have no reason to remain in the seats of the Assembly and Government, not a single day. Third way out.

This text is the speech that Kosovo Assembly Speaker Kadri Wessel has delivered today on the International Democracy Day note.
