Party of Democratic Action Chairman (SDA) and outgoing leader of Bosnia and Herzegovina Mayor Bakir Izetbegovic, in connection with Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq's speech during the visit to northern Mitrovica, said the Serbian leader “speaks for peace while continuing to collect weapons”.
In the interview for the Sarajevas Klix portal, Izetbegovi said that Vuciqi finally “has opened his eyes to”, but cautions him that he speaks of reconciliation with Bosniaks and pleads for BiH uniquely, but that at the same time “the Jarani bebe and, in no words, (the president of Republika Srpska, Milorad) Dodik, who offends Bosniaks and questions the territorial integrity and peace of the Balkans (4)x3>
In the speech in Mitrovica, says Izetbegoviqi, Serbian President “magnified wartime leaders and tried criminals”, having Slobodan Milosevic in mind.
The head of the BiH presidency, which is soon to complete the mandate, considers that Vuciqi is currently “in a rift” and that it is intended that “s with strong words will satisfy and calm the radical part of Serbian public opinion before taking certain actions related to Kosovo, which could result in resistance and evental rebellion”.
The time has clearly come for decisive decision to resolve Kosovo's choice, and if Vuciki takes such a decision, it will have to be admitted that there is courage”, Izetbegoviqi said.
The leader of BiH Muslims considers that “status quazo” is getting tired of Serbia and stops it on the path of Euro-integrations and adds that “is hard to be a Serb leader who has accepted reality, Kosovo independence” respectively.
Regarding ideas for exchange of territories between Kosovo and Serbia, Izetbegovici voiced fears that such a thing could open the appetites for independence of the Republika Srpska, with the establishment of a new entity in BiH and the co-operation of Serbian and Croat politicians in that direction.
He has expressed conviction that none of this could be achieved, but could cause deep political crises that would prolong and move the country and the people back.
