India and the US will hold joint military maneuvers on land, sea and air next year, Indian Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced to the media today. “We have decided to develop for the first time in 2019 joint maneuvers (land, air and sea) with the US on India's eastern coast”, stated [...]

“We have decided to develop for the first time in 2019 joint maneuvers (land, air and sea) with the US on the eastern coast of India”, the minister said.

Nirmala Sitharaman spoke at the conclusion of meetings with US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and US Defence Secretary Jim Mattis.

The United States is developing great efforts to strengthen ties with India.

Washington is very concerned to develop partnerships in the face of China's military and economic development in the region.
