Hoti counters Hoxhaj for meeting with EU Working Group for Visas

Following Deputy Prime Minister Enver Hoxhaj's statement that the opposition has said no visa liberalisation to Kosovars during a meeting with the European Union for visa liberalisation (COWEB), which visited Kosovo for the first time, has reacted to LDK Parliamentary Group chief Avdullah Hoti. According to Hoti, he has guaranteed representatives [...]

According to Hoti, he has assured EU representatives that the LDK strongly supports Kosovo's Euro-integration agenda.

He has said he has called for the will of Kosovo's citizens to be respected for dialogue with Serbia and that Kosovo's territorial integrity is inconsistent and cannot be part of the dialogue.

At today's meeting with representatives of all EU countries, I have assured them that LDK strongly supports Kosovo's Euro-integration agenda. As opposition, we have supported reforms and agreements between Kosovo and the EU stemming from the SAA. We as opposition have called an extraordinary session for the agreements stemming from the SAA and have voted them all. I thanked them for their support in the European Parliament for visa liberalisation and asked that this issue be concluded as soon as possible in the Council of Ministers, so that Kosovo's citizens would not remain the only ones in the Balkans who cannot move freely. For the topic of dialogue with Serbia, I sought to respect the will of Kosovo citizens, expressed through all representatives of citizens in the Kosovo Assembly, that Kosovo's territorial integrity is inconsistent and cannot be part of dialogue. The dialogue remains the only mechanism for resolving open issues, and the language should be punished”, Hoti wrote on Facebook.

According to Hoti, Hoxhaj's statement that the opposition has been moved to regret it undermines confidence among the opposition's position.

“Prime Minister Hoxhaj severely damages confidence between the position and opposition in the only issue in which we have given unreserved support to”, he has added.
