Haziri initiates meeting for cross-border co-operation between Likova and Novoberda

Gjilan Mayor Lutfi Haziri has gathered Likova Mayor Erkan Arifi and Novoberda's Svetislav Ivanovic at the joint meeting to begin cross-border co-operation, as close municipalities to the number of residents and with similarities in the area of tourism.

Chairman Haziri has said this was the initiative for future co-operation opportunities between these two municipalities with the development of cross-border projects in the development interests of these municipalities, and at the same time promoting common values.

Haziri also noted the fact that these Likova and Novoberd municipalities can co-operate in the future in many areas, but tourism and exchange of experiences are an opportunity to find different forms for the implementation of joint projects in the service of citizens.

The two mayors Arifi and Ivanovic have thanked President Haziri's initiative in creating bridges between these two municipalities of development interest and exchange of experiences, but also the possibility of absorption of funds for major projects in the future.

From this meeting, Gjilan chairman Lutfi Haziri has also announced his commitment to establishing co-operation links between the Kamenica municipality and another municipality in Macedonia to establish cross-border co-operation ties.

So far the municipality of Gjilan and Viti are municipalities that have implemented joint projects with the Kumanovo municipality, Chirri, Likova and other municipalities, drawing funds from the European Commission for projects in the wave of crafts, but also projects in agriculture.
