The “otp-out” or elimination system means that all will be considered potential donors if they don't list their data in the Donors' Register to say they don't want to donate their organs.
Spahn stated that it is in favour of a disposal scheme for organ donation that would take place collecting organs and automatic transplants until people register their desire not to donate.
We should have this discussion in Bundestag now. This is where these” topics meet, Spahn said that a patient on the organ waiting list dies every eight hours.
According to the German organ transplantation Foundation, last year there were only 797 donors in Germany, at one time the lowest.
The data also shows that 294 organs were donated throughout Germany in 2017, still with 10,000 patients on the waiting list.
