At the end of this year, after a nearly two-decade stay in Prizren, the use of Camp Fusor ends on the part of German military, who carry out their mission under NATO Peacekeeping Corps.
The German contingent's military authorities announced that Kosovo Security Force Minister Rrustem Berisha has asked Germany's Federal Defence Minister Ursula von der Leyen, donating equipment and vehicles in support of effective KSF construction for its current mission, in this case for civil protection operations.
The media officer, near the German contingent of KFOR, at Camp Fushor-Prizren, Denise Alten, has said of the portal “Prizren's newspapers.net” that KSF will surrender 44 vehicles to all grounds.
This donation also includes a series of special mechanical equipment, then saw cars, welding machines, and several other equipment.
This donation's “Vlera totals about 330 000 euros”, Lieutenant Alten said.
The German contingent of KFOR has provided continued support to the KSF, including in the field of medicine.
Despite Prizren's withdrawal, the German contingent will remain further within KFOR. In this context of 2019, about 70 German soldiers will be stationed in Pristina. Thus Germany will remain unchanged on the list of ten countries with the greatest presence of soldiers under the KFOR mission.
The commander of the German contingent of KFOR, Lieutenant Colonel Eric Offermann, has said that in the spotlight it will be further advance of the KSF.
The resulting camp that German KFOR has used, on an area of 42 hectares, is planned to then be used as „Park innovation and training“.
