Stronger anti-polluting tests from cars entered into force today in the European Union.
They come in response to the 2015 scandal affecting cars “Volkswagen” regarding pollution, where some of the German manufacturer's diesel vehicles were worked to cheat tests while producing amounts of pollution beyond standards.
The new checks are part of the International Harmony of Test Process for Lehta (WLTP) Automnets, ATA writes.
“They have been processed in order to measure pollution using real data and not based on theoretical profiles, which was the basis of previous tests”, the EU says.
