For about three weeks, the Armed Forces of Albania, Britain, Kosovo and Croatia will use the largest Albanian military bases in the largest international exercise held in our country.

About 1200 troops and dozens of vehicles, land, air and sea will be engaged in the “Albanian Leon 2018x1> exercise, which will be held by September 30th. For the first time in this exercise, which is held each year in our country, a contingent from the Kosovo Security Force also takes part.

Preparation of the terrain and movement of vehicles and troops has been in motion since September 9th, exploiting Albania's most important military bases, from the sea bases of Paul's Cape, Pashalymann, Porto Parlermos, Karabun Peninsula, the Rinas and Farca air bases, the Zall-Herrit garrison, and the training region of Biza.

The purpose of this training is to complete non-war evacuation operations via sea and air, including landing warships, helicopters and special forces for land activities. The first training actions began at Paul's Cape naval base, where the Albanian Commando, along with British troops, exercised land landings with amphibious means and subjected various acts of offensive.

The next few days the training stages will follow through on other military bases available to this exercise, including troops from Kosovo and Croatian divers. At that, according to tradition, there will also be the Day of the Concerned Visitors of Training “Albian Leon 2018<18x1>.

On Monday, September 24th, 11: 00 p.m., troops and vehicles will land in central Tirana, where they will demonstrate some of the actions of this training, and used equipment and weapons will be exposed. Prime Minister Edi Rama, Defence Minister Olta Xhacka, as well as the top leaders of the Albanian Armed Forces and British troops, are expected to attend on the Day of Concerned Visitors.
