UN, US condemn attack in Iran

The UN “condemns all acts of terrorism and the loss of innocent lives”, said US State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert.
“We stand in support of Iranian people against the crackdown on radical Islamic terrorism and express our sympathy to them at this terrible time”, she added.
Meanwhile, United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres said that he condemns “the attack in the town of Ahvaz”. In this statement he has expressed his condolences to the families of victims “and to Iran's government and people”.
The Irna news agency reported citing <x0-source” reliable, that assailants wearing military uniforms have opened fire at the event being held in the town of Ahvaz, where Iranian officials had gathered to forward the military parade marking the start of the 1980-88 war between Iran and Iraq.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry has blamed <x0) terrorists paid by the foreign regime” for the attack.
The militant Islamic State group and the Arab anti-government group Ahvaz Resistance have claimed responsibility for this attack, but no group has testified to such a claim.
Iran's president, Hassan Rohan, has blamed the US-backed Arab states for “monetary, military financing, political support for Arab anti-government groups”, but has provided no more details about these claims.
