Company owner Hashim Thaci: The worker did not fall from the skeleton, the wind carried him from the plow

Day-to-day in Kosovo, only cases of the deaths of construction workers are increasing as they are working to secure their income. 17 construction workers have died from January to today in Kosovo. The last case concerns a worker aged 53 who in the afternoon [...]
The last case concerns a 53-year-old worker who yesterday afternoon found death at the workplace after falling from the skeleton while working. He worked in a company building “Release” in Pristina's “neighbourhood;Arberia”.
And the company's co-owner “liquidation”, Hashim Thaci, told Construction.info that the deceased is not dead at work, but at the hospital.
“There is no death in the workplace, it is injured in the workplace or in the hospital it is dead”, Thaci said.
That the worker was on the dock when he fell down, denied Mr. Thaci. The latter is saying that the deceased has been in the dust but that strong winds have brought down the defenders.
“It wasn't on the worker's skeletal, it was on the floor, but the wind blew down the fences that are con-protective, and strong winds have pushed it behind it”, he relates.
In view of the strong winds that prevailed yesterday, citizens were urged not to go into open spaces, even though in some videos published on social networks, they see construction workers forced to work even under those conditions.
However, Thaci says his company has called on workers to cut off their jobs, not being accurate at hour.
According to Thaci, the deceased man found death after returning to remove a tree that could later risk the life of a passinger in the parking lot.
We've actually failed him with phone calls that cut off my brother who's in charge of the workshop. He called responsibility at 3 or 4 and stopped his work. But as he went downstairs, the worker saw that there was a tree left there and said not to hurt someone down in the parking lot. But the moment he got there and dropped”, Thaci told the construction.
Thaci says the company's owners have been questioned by Kosovo Police, but by not giving more details.
“We've given the statements we've all done. Now let's look at the other”, he said briefly.
Meanwhile, the Labour Inspectorate considers it irresponsible by the owners if the workers are forced to work yesterday, despite climate conditions. However, not even inspectors on yesterday monitored the field.
And we haven't had it since we've seen it, and we had to stay inside that we don't smell, and we don't have the day that this happens, it was unexpected, it was a climate issue we couldn't wait. We don't know what happened but it was a really strong wind and I was on the street. But we can do this without any incidental cases of injury or accidents, but I consider it irresponsible to the employer if he allows-probate even under the circumstances of the punu”, said Labour Chief Inspector Basri Ibrahim for Construction.info.
Ibrahim has not given much details about the case since, as he said, the inspectors are in the field and then you will know what happened.
While the chairman of the Independent Private Sector Union, Yusuf Azemi for Construction.info, said the government, along with its institutions, has failed to protect the workers, stressing that everything said by them is in vain and propaganda.
The government and its institutions have failed to protect and ensure the worker has done nothing for the workers. In fact, it is in vain, and propaganda is what the minister and other institutions say they regret it. We have nothing to add except to what we've said before all we're doing is just talking and the case is being forgotten, Azemi said.
Azem stressed that for the very fact that there were strong winds yesterday, no workers had to be allowed to work, but as he says the owners of important companies is to do jobs, but not the lives of workers.
We have 17 cases of death in the workplace and it's actually bigger than last year. It's a record with the number of job deaths in the workplace. The very fact that there is a breath yesterday, but even in normal conditions there are skeletes that without any security, suggest that the worker's life does not matter. For company owners, it's about doing their job, taking their personal gain, and not getting a chance at the workers' lives. It wasn't supposed to work yesterday, but guess when it got imposed. And it's true that the workman's condition is being pushed into the wind and the storm, because 5 minutes doesn't work on the company's owner, he's long-term sanctioned”, potential Azem.
We recall that a few days ago Labour and Health Minister Skender Recica has said he has not accepted any conviction for serious conditions at work. On the same day, he invited all those who have problems at work to press charges.
It's a very big security issue at work. The state of the employees is not at the level I want. I mean publicly that with me for a year yet no punishment has come for serious conditions at work”, that's how Recica at Info Magazine has been discussed for the safety of workers at their workplaces, since in just nine months, 17 people who died at work.
