At eleven schools in Kosovo today, no lesson will begin due to delays in completing renovations, while the process of distributing free books is expected to be completed by 6 September.

So has Minister of Education, Science and Technology Shyqi, Shyqiri Bytyqi, announced during a media conference where he has announced that all preparations for the 2018-2019 school year have ended, until he stressed that by now in 15 municipalities the books have been distributed.

Bytyqi: At 11 schools I'm not starting school today

“Syve has become a satisfying preparation despite having had some obstacles at the beginning of the new school year in all schools, we have somewhere around 11 schools now from the information we have on the entire territory of Kosovo that today will not start learning because of some delays that occurred at the completion of the jobs in the renovation of schools...0545 <45x1> also in this year has been done for all levels, so from level 1 to 9. So far in most of the municipalities, textbooks have been distributed are expected to be completed by 6 to complete the distribution of all schools”, Bytyqi added.

During this conference, Education Minister Shyqi Bytyqi said they expect students in pre-university education from next year to start learning with new school publications.

Bytyqi: I think we'll finally have new textbooks.

“For new textbooks has become the public call for 0-6, 8 and 10 levels and the second part should also take place this month, so it will become the second edition of level 2-7 and 12 and we expect the handover of manuscripts by authors and from publishing houses until January 2019, where it will have the main role of the ministry and the reactors who will be appointed by the ministry to assess the manuscripts...04;44; 44; I consider that by means of the new law and these manuscripts that will be handed over and which will be assessed by the detectives we will be able to have alternative books and meet the criteria and conditions for finally having good school texts”, he said.

According to Bytyqi the textbooks won't have textbooks this year for Presevo Valley students, for political reasons, but according to him are working to find a solution to the problem.

Bytyqi: Political problems leave Valley students without textbooks

We continue political problems to be in our power to distribute those texts in the Presevo Valley. We're talking to the Ministry of Education in Albania to see what we're going to do, so we're going to find the possibilities and alternatives for these texts to reach the Presevo Valley, so it's not our intention to make propaganda about what we're doing, but for us it's very important that students have books and so far they don't, we hope to find a solution for students to have those texts, said the education minister.

Regarding the whole day's lesson, Bytyqi said that in the absence of infrastructure this process could not begin next year, but according to him if they provide monitoring infrastructure in some schools could begin this kind of learning.

And as the new school year began, Minister Bytyqi asked teachers to engage more, while parents asked them to be more active in increased communication with teachers. /B. Ibishi/
