Last month the fishing ship crews crashed. But both sides had agreed on the principles of an agreement but failed to finalise it.
A government spokeswoman said discussions were continuing.
Further talks have been proposed for Tuesday, but the meeting has not yet been confirmed.
Last month 35 French ships faced five British ships off the coast of northern France.
