The demarcation agreement with the Montenegrin state was approved in the Kosovo Assembly only after signing a joint declaration between the presidents of both states, which envisions the formation of a working group that would in two years correct the concessions that have been made.

But nothing has been undertaken towards adjusting these concessions yet. The State Commission for Border Oversight and Maintaining, which has found that the border line between Kosovo and Montenegro has had errors during the demarcation process, is ready to sit down with the Montenegrin side and discuss correction.

The chairman of this commission, Speed Bulqi, has told Online Economy they are willing to enter this process and are just waiting for the Government to take the initiative for that.

“actually, we are a state commission and it doesn't relate to us when the process begins, it depends exclusively on the government of the country when they will create preconditions for us to sit down with the Montenegrin side and to deal with all these found”.

Of course the commission has readiness, it is ready at every stage when the Government thinks it's the right time to sit down and discuss all these concessions and remarks that we have found, our commission's readiness exists”

But that is not expected to happen very soon, since Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj has indicated in one of his statements that the Government is not rushing into correcting demarcation errors with Montenegro, saying their goal is initially visa liberalisation.

Lifting visas for Kosovars from the European Union, according to warnings from Kosovo institutions, could happen at the end of this year.
