Macedonia's Interior Minister said police have arrested seven people today who are believed to have fought in Syria and Iraq along with Islamic rebels. No details have been provided about the identity of arrested persons.
Police said those arrested, ages 23 to 41, were charged with two separate cases in 2015 and 2016 for participation in wars in Syria and Iraq, writes “Albanian”
If convicted, they face up to 10 years in prison. Macedonian authorities say more than 100 of their citizens are located in Syria and Iraq to fight, and that nearly 20 have been killed so far.
