Victor Buzhala, deputy informer of the KEDS, has said that KEDS annually sends about 5,000 cases of energy theft to court.
There are thousands of cases. On average, every year KED sends about 5,000 cases” to court, Buzhala said.
According to him, KEDS has undertaken all the measures available to avoid the theft of electronic energy, by building specialised teams, has bought the latest technology and undertaken awareness campaigns.
“KEDS has taken whatever is available. He has built specialised teams for combating this phenomenon and teams are constantly on the ground, has acquired the latest technologies that identify abuses, has undertaken many conscious campaigns, as he prepares all abuses for court. This has caused the loss of her daughter to be repeatedly” to be expressed by Buzhala.
Based on a report published by the Department of Energy next to the Ministry of Economic Development, thefts occur mostly in the municipality of Mitrovica, Besiana and Skyright.
This report also points out that the response of the courts remains weak to cases of theft. Out of 4500 cases of lawsuits during 2017 for energy theft by Kosovo citizens, 4003 cases have remained under consideration.
Similarly, the spokesperson for information itself has stressed that justice institutions should be more active in these cases, as cases of energy theft are not being considered.
“... are the institutions of justice that must be more aguidance in this direction. Of some 5,000 cases each year, over 80 percent of them” are being completed by Buzhala for Indexline.
In contrast, regarding the fatage of electricity in the business theft cases, Buzhala noted that customers ' bills are only billed by spent electricity kilowatts.
Otherwise, the MTI Energy Department has stressed that out of 24 per cent of losses reported to the regulator's office every year, over 50 per cent of them are energy theft. Although, cases of theft are also being considered commercial loss “ ” but that is, in fact, theft, which often causes “hasvari technical”, which costs even more than theft.
