On September 14th, the frustrated and supporters of the DP attacked the government's objects with weapons, holding the coffin with Azem Hajdari's dead body and demanding Prime Minister Fatos Nano's resignation.
Democratic Party MP Azem Hajdari was executed on the evening of September 12, 1998, a few metres from DP headquarters in the capital.
The hail of bullets found his death and bodyguard, Besim Cera from Debra.
Former December Freedom was charged with the murder of Jaho Mulosman, as well as three brothers -- Izet, Ismet and Isamedin Haxhia -- people who stood very close to Prime Minister Berisha and held important positions.
Former Prime Minister Sali Berisha's bodyguard, Izet Haxhia, allegedly called Hajdari and took him out of his office, where ten minutes later he was executed in ambush, although such a moment remains really unclear.
In a marathon trial, Mulosman, who was sentenced to life as well as two brothers Izet and Ismet Haxhia, who were sentenced to 25 and 20 years of freedom respectively. The third of the Haxhia brothers, Isamedini, was sentenced only for illegal possession.
Although the file was closed with the punishment of three people, it was never the reason why Azem Hajdari was executed. Meanwhile, it was proven that on the MP, Fatmir Haklaj, who was later killed during a well-organised assassination. The only one to be acquitted of the event of the century was Fatmir Meta. He was released from the courtroom.
