The situation in American politics over a year and a half often resembles a circus, in which foolishness is never carried out, however, the next 11 weeks may be the most dangerous period for American President Donald Trump's rule, with the possibility of greater consequences, writes “Washington Post”.
The federal government has investigated whether Cohen deceived the bank and the tax service and borrowed in many of the more than $20m for taxi companies who are owned by him and his family, and checked whether he violated the laws on campaign financing or any other law when he helped draft contracts to pay for the silences of women who allegedly had ties with Trump.
Cohen on Tuesday has been found guilty of violations of the law on campaign financing and other charges, claiming that at the order of the federal presidency candidate, he has organised the payments to influence the 2016 presidential elections, Iseder.com broadcasts.
Cohen's admission is about money, which during the pre-election campaign in 2016 was paid for by Trump lovers.
Cohen has stressed that he has organised payments “whose main goal has been to influence the election”, according to the order of the federal candidate, which he has not appointed.
Cohen, who earlier reached agreement with federal prosecutors on guilty pleas, has been found guilty of a total of eight points of indictment.
However, there are other challenges before Trump.
Paul Manafort, his former chief of campaigning, is facing two judgments, while the second judgment refers to the case which is directly linked to his work in the states of the former USSR and to the way his activities have affected Trump's campaign work.
Special adviser Robert Mueller may soon present new charges or even publish Russia's final mix report on the Trump campaign.
Former Trump adviser Omarosa Manigault Newman will continue to publish conversations with people in the White House.
His trade struggle with other states so far has only caused job losses and uncertainty, and new international crises and conflicts with American allies are possible, the WP estimates.
The climate of this period is the convention elections in November, because if the Democrats take control of Congress, new investigations of Trump scandals will follow.
