Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq, at the European Forum in Alpbach, called on the international community tonight to allow Serbs and Albanians to solve the Kosovo issue themselves.
He expressed disappointment, as he said because of the desire of other countries to influence the content of a possible agreement between Belgrade and Pristina.
“I hear voices from London, as if they were more interested in our future, more than we ourselves in”, Vuciq said.
He estimated that a possible agreement on resolving the Kosovo issue would be the incredible “achievement”, but added that it is “sceptic, that this will be reached”.
He said that because of efforts to resolve the Kosovo issue there are many opponents in Serbia, among which a large number of personalities, while the opposition accuses him of being a traitor, and that abroad more are represented as lawyers of the so-called “Great Serbia”.
He asked what Serbia's borders are and what Kosovo is. “We consider Kosovo part of Serbia, and they consider it an independent state. Half the countries in the world say Kosovo is independent and half, among which are five EU members, which is part of Serbia. How are we going to resolve this?
