Kosovo received the recommendation for visa liberalisation with 30 votes for, ten against and two abstentions on the Committee for Citizen Freedoms, Justice and Home Affairs LIBE
The Eurodeput and rapporteur for Kosovo in the European Parliament, Tanja Fajon, called for the vote, saying Kosovo has come a long way to this step, and that it deserves visa removal.
After voting in the Commission, the process continues at the plenary session of the European Parliament, expected to be held in mid-September of this year, then at the Council of Ministers from now on.
