President Trump said on Sunday he offered public gratitude to his oldest son, who met with a lawyer tied to the Kremlin at the Trump Towers during the 2016 campaign to “receive information on an opponent”, defending the meeting as <x2-directively legal and made at a necessary political time”.
However, it is against the laws of the United States of America that American companies receive donations or consultations from foreigners, and now meeting Donald Trump Jr. And Natalia Veselnitskaya will be a special subject to Robert S. Mueller for Russia's intervention in the US election elections that year.
While “co-operation” is not mentioned in US criminal statutes, Mueller is investigating whether someone linked to Trump is co-ordinating with the Russians, which could result in criminal charges if they entered into a plot to violate the law, including through cyberhacking or intervention in elections.
“Report with Face News, a complete fiction, which I'm concerned about the meeting that my wonderful son Donald, had on Trump Tower”, wrote the president on one of several tweets early Sunday morning. “This was a meeting to get information on an opponent, completely legal and made all the time in politics and went nowhere”, he said.
