(8 years ago)Kosovo President Hashim Thaci and Serbia's Aleksandar Vuciq have answered journalists' questions about the progress of dialogue between the two countries. At the press conference under the forum in Alpbach, Austria, Vuchic said he cannot talk about the details of whether they are close or far away from the agreement [...]
“For the final stage of dialogue we must be faster. Naturally dialogue and peace negotiations between Kosovo and Serbia are difficult, with Alexander Vuciqi. This is not a secret. We have profound differences about compatibility. But we also have common ground to bring about the peace agreement between Serbs and Kosovars”, Thaci said.
He further said that if the agreement is reached it would be historic. But if it is not achieved it will not be good for either Kosovo or Serbia or the Balkans.
It's better now than later. Because we'll move faster”, Thaci said.
“Hopefully the EU will support the agreement and call on all to support the agreement between Kosovo and Serbia”, he said.
The demarcation with Montenegro was not easy, three years of time. But, all in parliament have been happy after the vote of reaching the agreement and we had the support of all”, Thaci concluded.
Vuciq also said that the solution for the final phase of dialogue should be found as soon as possible because it is in the best interests of two peoples.
