Although the connoisseurs of Balkan affairs, and recently also Chancellor Angela Merkel have come up against any changes in the borders. Kosovo President Hashim Thaci is continuing to promote his idea of partition. In an interview for “Reuters”, he has said the West will support any agreement between him and Vuciqi.
“Defenitively now is the right time to correct the borders between Kosovo and Serbia, which are approximately 400 km”, Thaci has said.
According to him, border correction will help avoid interethnic problems, or create some kind of autonomy such as Republika Srpska in Bosnia.
“Restruction of borders, defensively avoids partitioning Kosovo, changing territories, avoiding problems, crises and any possibility of new war”, he added.
Thaci has voiced confidence in this Reuters interview that the West will support any agreement between him and Vucinqi, expected to take place by February 2019.
“If the parties agree to this process and reach an agreement, the EU and the US will support any agreement on border correction”, he/Periscope has added
