Thaci also says in Austria: Border correction does not destabilise region

Kosovo President Hashim Thaci, through a press conference just held at the summit of regional and European leaders in Alpbach, Austria, said that the correction of borders does not destabilise the region. The agreement between Kosovo and Serbia should not intimidate anyone or correct borders, the president said. Otherwise Thaci expressed [...]

Otherwise Thaci indicated that the final phase of dialogue with Serbia is important for the Western Balkans and very important for both states.

“In this regard we have difficulties in the Neomalism process between Kosovo and Serbia. We are in the final phase of the process and we need the support of the EU and the US and other states to reach a final agreement between Kosovo and Serbia. Without this agreement, no state will make progress on the road to the EU. Benifice if the agreement is reached are big, not only for Kosovo and Serbia, but also for the EU”, President Thaci said initially.

The first of the state of Kosovo reminded “of a creative solution” which, according to him, should make the two states together, and be acceptable to Pristina and Belgrade.

Thaci also spoke at this conference about correcting the borders, which he said such an agreement would guarantee peace.

We've decided to reach a creative and acceptable solution by all. We are convinced that this would ensure stability and peace in the Western Balkans. Kosovo and Serbia will not be the only states to correct borders”, Thaci said

Also, Austria's president has last night confirmed that the final phase of Kosovo-Serbia dialogue must be completed within the year.

The pro-changing declaration of borders has also come from Donald Trump's cabinet, his adviser, John Balton, has stressed that the US will not be an obstacle to the Kosovo-Serbia agreement if the parties also agree on the exchange of territory.
