Albania and Kosovo, which are almost exclusively inhabited by Albanians, are walking at great strides, writes the Swiss medium in the article under the title “
German expert Andreas Wildermouth says Albania and Kosovo wanted to create as much unity as possible under the formal union”.
He told the German news agency DPA that this “is a legitimate goal, because it cannot be denied those rules that are standard in the EU”.
An additional wind in the sail took over the past days by Kosovo President Hashim Thaci, who is looking for “border correction”, meaning “the reunification of the Presevo Valley with Kosovo”, the paper writes.
According to estimates, up to 100,000 Albanians live in this area in the towns of Presevo, Bujanoc and Medvedja. This border correction is possible and necessary because Serbia has failed to guarantee minority rights, the newspaper quoted President Thaci as saying.
What areas will include a Greater Albania, which is sharply rejected by the EU and the US? The main point would be the Republic of Albania and today's Kosovo. In addition, half of Albanians still live in Macedonia, plus their fellow countrymen in southern Serbia and tens of thousands in Montenegro, the newspaper commemorates.
