It's about an 183m-high work honoring Indian independent leader Sardar Vallabbhai Patel.
After five years of construction, the completed statue will hold the top record on the planet, leaving behind the Buddha statue in China with about 30 meters, broadcast the kp.
The statue of Patel is located on the island of Sarako, west of India.
It is thought to end in October, on the anniversary of the former leader's death.
