Saudi Arabia has announced it has donated $100m for stabilisation projects in northeast Syria, in areas that were once controlled by Islamic State militants. Now these areas are controlled by forces supported by the United States.
The Saudi Arabia Embassy in Washington said that the money would save “lives and help the body restore displaced Syrians and prevent the restoration of IS”.
The money will be dedicated to agriculture, education, infrastructure renovation, water supply regulation.
