The Regional Directorate of National Culture Shkodra suggests that this year, there has been an increased influx of visitors from Western Europe who have visited Rosafa Tower.
Shkodra's DDRKK, via a graphic, presented the influx of tourists according to citizenship for July 15th, August 15th 2018, where Polish citizens occupied first place with 602 visitors, followed by those Russians with 510 visitors, as well as French citizens with 493.
In total, Rosafa's fortress for this period has been visited by some 3,000 foreign nationals.
Rosafa's castle is erected on a rocky hill at the entrance of the city of Shkodra. On steep hillsides, the surrounding walls are erected, which cover some 9 ha. In the ancient period, the walls were polygonal - style, which are preserved even today, broadcasts of attics.
A fortified Illyrian center is mentioned for the first time during the reign of King Gent, and historian Titus Liv called “the strongest legiatary”. The castle appears by the name Rosapha in the Middle Ages, during which it was conquered by the Slavs and sometimes by Byzantines.
Within its walls are a series of facilities such as garrisons, warehouses, an administrative building, and so on. The Rosafa fortress in Shkodra is one of Albania's most important castles and the main tourist object in the town of Shkodra.
