Russia's President Vladimir Putin said today that NATO is moving its military infrastructure near the Russian border and that Russia in response should strengthen its infrastructure.
He made these comments at a press conference following talks with Finnish President Saulian Niinistum.
Putin also said NATO refuses to discuss with Russia the implementation of military flight rules.
He added that he expects the Finnish EU presidency will help strengthen relations between Russia and Europe.
“Finland will stand at the helm of the European Union in the second half of 2019. I expect the Finnish presidency to achieve something positive in order to restore the normal state of relations between Russia and the EU”, Putin said.
