A video was shown online showing cleaners trying to clean up the effects of severe flooding and garbage dumps that reached the extension of the Roxas Boulevard after a tropical storm.
Sea waves brought plastic, tires, polysterol, and other refuse to shore.
Manila's Bulletin reports that the heavy flooding meant that the debris had been poured into the streets and caused traffic cuts.
Meanwhile, the city was charged with handling the consequences. Bambi Purisma, a public information official in Manila, announced that the Manila Public Services Department and Allied forces have begun cleaning up debris in the area.
Another Manila resident named Tim de Assis, who passed by Roxas Boulevard in the thick flood area, posted a video on Facebook, along with the writing: “Pyet why there was traffic on Saturday morning. I was surprised by “waste code””.
The truth of all of this is not unusual, as the world tries to deal with the massive amount of waste on the planet.
