Opposition wants early elections, but parties accuse one another

Opposition parties are demanding early elections for the overthrow of Ramush Haradinaj-led government. But the three opposition parties in the Kosovo Assembly -- the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), the Vetevendosje (LVV) and the Social Democrat Party -- can agree on the way and the time when this Government should go home”. Representatives of these [...]
Representatives of these three parties are accusing each other of failing to co-operate in the collapse of the Government and the appointment of the election date.
Kosovo Democratic League Parliamentary Group Chief (LDK) Avdullah Hoti says September is the last time elections should be held in the country.
He added that these elections would end this crisis, which is coming from the coalition, which is not legitimate to continue ruling with the country.
“... by April, when the ruling coalition has lost the majority immediately, we had to sit down to organise new elections. We had given this opportunity, through the political tables organised by the LDK so that political parties could sit down, come together, accept the fate that we are in a crisis, and it is impossible for institutions to lead with a parliamentary minority”.
The “set an election date and then work and prepare for that date, but there was no will, because this minority coalition is determined to move that government even though they don't have political power, and normally we now expect in September to take constitutional steps to get the country to elections”, Hoti said, for Online Economy.
While deputy from the Vetevendosje Movement (LVV), Albulen Haxhiu says early elections need opposition co-operation to be held, as achieving that goal may be difficult.
She has said LVV is committed to the election being achieved because the government led by Ramush Haradinaj is at the expense of Kosovo.
To come to this, an opposition co-operation for within the Republic of Kosovo needs a union of forces, but also a union of actions”, Haxhiu said.
Haxhiu added that at the last session the LVV and LDK parliamentary group had been co-ordinated not to vote on Haradinaj Government bills, but the group The PSD enabled their vote in the Assembly.
“The Assembly must go to the polls because of its dysfunctional government. This initiative unfortunately did not join the other group, such as the PSD, so they voted the Haradinaj Government bills and thus enabled the quorum”.
The “therefore without an opposition co-operation will be difficult, but not impossible because even when the next session of the Republic Parliament begins, we as Vetevendosje will be ready and will engage in extraordinary elections”, Haxhi said.
“ ... Every day of this government is at the expense of the Republic of Kosovo, at the expense of the interests of the citizens of Kosovo, so we should work at maximum work in terms of creating extraordinary elections in the Republic of Kosovo”, Haxhiu added.
But the head of the parliamentary group of the Social Democrat Party of Kosovo (PSD), Dardan Sejdiu, said they are willing to back the no-confidence motion for the collapse of the government.
He said the accusations by the LDK and the VV for non-co-operation on the part of the PSD have been made to harm this subject, meanwhile, stressed that sincere and serious initiative is needed for the no-confidence motion.
“actually mentioned such proposals The LDK and the Vetevendosje Movement have since and in some of their public reactions have said the PSD is the problem of motion”.
We simply respond by saying that whenever you launch such a motion, you will have signatures on our side”, Sejdiu said.
