The news of Geci's defence lawyer, Haxhi Milaku, who said the medical commission formed by the president of Appeals has found, among other things, that his defense suffers from serious illness.

The District Court in Mitrovica, in July 2011, had found Sabit Gecin guilty of four counts of war crimes against the civilian population, as well as for illegal weapons criminal work, and had sentenced him to 15 years in prison.
Also, this court had convicted three others of war crimes in the case, respectively, Riza Aliaj was sentenced to 12 years in prison, Saban Hoti to 7 years in prison, and Haki Rexhepi to 6 years in prison.
The court had found sufficient evidence that those held in the camps in Kukes and Chahan, were beaten and mistreated, had not been watered, and had no hygienic conditions for them.
The court had not found sufficient evidence to upload Sabit Gecin for Anton Bisak's murder.
